Facemoji Keyboard has launched the Cutout Effect, an AI-driven feature that uses generative AI to create a dynamic typing experience by highlighting main figures in user-uploaded images. The keyboard app, with over 550 million downloads, continues to enhance personalization and self-expression for its global user base.
7 June 2024 – Facemoji Keyboard, renowned as the world’s first content-creation keyboard with extensive in-app resources, has introduced a new AI-driven feature called the Cutout Effect. This generative artificial intelligence (Gen AI) enhancement aims to create a dynamic and personalized typing experience.
Now available on Android, the Cutout Effect feature provides users with a unique visual upgrade. Unlike traditional DIY keyboard backgrounds, this feature uses AI to identify the main figure in user-uploaded images. When the keyboard is activated, the main figure appears to float on the top layer, greeting the user and adding a personalized touch to the typing experience. This innovation allows users to be reminded of their favorite memories each time they use the keyboard. “Facemoji recognizes the value of AI and the importance of memories and moments. With our AI features, the users’ overall keyboard experience becomes uniquely their own,” said Natalia Lin, Product Lead at Facemoji Keyboard. “Facemoji is committed to elevating users’ communication experience. With Gen AI, we believe we can seamlessly integrate visual and self-expression.”
Facemoji’s innovative design and social engagement have earned it prestigious accolades, including the IF Design Award and the Best Mobile App Award in 2024.
With over 550 million global downloads, Facemoji Keyboard is available for free on both Android and iOS, serving users in over 170 countries and regions.
