Terry KS Oct 31, 2013 (Thu): Facebook is testing an update to its messenger on Android that makes it a faster and more reliable mobile-to-mobile messaging experience. This version will allow Android users to see the Messenger icon next to their friends name if their friends are using the mobile Messenger app.
If the friends aren’t your Facebook friends, then you just need a contact’s phone number to begin texting others using Messenger. To help people reach you, you’ll be asked to confirm your phone number.
The app also comes with a fresh and new look.
