Epson is promoting a new approach to business printing in Southeast Asia that focuses on cleaner office environments, lower energy consumption and reduced maintenance. Its Dust-Free, Heat-Free and Stress-Free technologies aim to help organisations cut costs while improving workplace efficiency and sustainability.

MALAYSIA, 5 MARCH 2026 – As organisations across Southeast Asia adapt to hybrid work models and increasing sustainability expectations, global technology company Epson is introducing a new approach to responsible business printing designed for modern workplaces.

Through its Dust-Free, Heat-Free and Stress-Free technologies, Epson aims to help companies reduce environmental impact, control operating costs and create healthier and more efficient office environments.

Indoor air quality has become a growing concern in high-occupancy office environments. In a recent study conducted by the Korea Institute of Industrial Technology and Testing, selected Epson printer models demonstrated very low levels of detectable fine and ultrafine dust particle emissions during controlled chamber testing conditions. By adopting a Dust-Free approach to printing, Epson’s business inkjet technology helps support cleaner workspaces where employees can focus on their work with fewer environmental distractions.

Epson’s printers also operate using Heat-Free Technology, which differentiates them from traditional laser printers that require heat during the printing process. Because Epson’s inkjet printers do not rely on heat for ink ejection, they can reduce electricity consumption by up to 85 percent while allowing faster start-up times and minimal warm-up periods. For organisations facing rising energy costs and sustainability commitments, this technology offers a way to maintain performance while improving energy efficiency.

Operational disruptions caused by printer breakdowns or maintenance can affect daily productivity. Epson’s inkjet printers feature a simplified printing mechanism with fewer moving parts, which supports stable operation and reduces maintenance requirements. Compared with conventional printers, Epson printer fleets may require up to 59 percent fewer replacement parts during maintenance, helping businesses reduce downtime and keep workflows running smoothly.

Beyond individual devices, Epson is encouraging businesses to take a more strategic approach to their printing infrastructure. Internal model simulations suggest that right-sizing printer fleets could deliver cost savings of up to 53 percent depending on device configuration and usage patterns. Despite evolving work habits, many organisations still rely heavily on A3 printers even though the majority of office printing tasks involve A4 documents. Epson data indicates that around 98 percent of office print jobs are A4, which can result in unnecessary energy consumption and underutilised equipment.

To address this, Epson offers its Right Fleet Solution, a consultative approach that helps organisations evaluate their current print environments and align them with actual usage needs. The process includes an initial fleet assessment to identify inefficiencies, the design of an optimised device mix based on real usage data, and a proposal outlining potential cost and energy savings. The solution incorporates Epson printers equipped with Dust-Free, Heat-Free and Stress-Free technologies to support more efficient and productive printing environments.

According to Jester Cruz, Senior Regional Manager for Corporate Products at Epson Southeast Asia, procurement decisions today are shaped by both financial discipline and environmental responsibility. By combining innovative printing technologies with a data-driven consultation process, Epson aims to help organisations improve workplace efficiency while reducing the environmental impact of their print infrastructure.
