April 21, 2014 (Mon): According the Vietnam E-Commerce and Information Technology Agency (VECITA), Vietnam had about US$2.2 billion e-commerce sales with an average spending of US$120 per capita last year, Bizhub reported.
The report also says that VECITA has estimated Vietnamese e-commerce sales will hot US$4 billion with an average spending of US$150 per capita in 2015.
Fashion and beauty related products were the most products purchased online by Vietnamese which accounting for 62 percent, followed by furniture and electronics technology (35%), home appliances (32%) and airfares (25%).
In Vietnam, cash-on-delivery remains the most popular payment method used by shoppers which accounted for 74 per cent, followed by bank transfer (41%), card payment (11%), scratch cards (9%) and electronic wallets (8%).
Vatgia.com, Alibaba.com, Ecna.vn, 5giay.vn, 123mua.vn, Enbac.com, Chodientu.vn, muaban.net, Rongbay.com, and Ebay.vn were the top 10 most popular sites among Vietnamese Internet users.
