E-Commerce in Vietnam is on healthy growing track
According to the Department for E-Commerce and Information Technology under the Vietnam’s Ministry of Industry and Trade (MoIT), total of 1.5 million online transactions worth more than VND 4,130 billion transacted last year.
The department also revealed that nearly 130 businesses had registered to use e-commerce platform as their trading floor, 35 new online stores were established and more than 30 per cent of businesses in the country have set up their online store by end of year 2011. These statistics show that e-commerce has become more and more popular in Vietnam.
The General Director of e-commerce service provider Peacesoft, Nguyen Hoa Binh said his company is having average annual profits grow at 100 per cent. An expert from the Vietnam E-Commerce Association (VECOM) said that the E-commerce in the country is forecasted to have an annual growth rate of 40 per cent in the coming years.
While more e-commerce websites are being built, many e-commerce service providers were established to provide support services to the e-commerce, such as security application, e-payment services, sales training, advertising and web development.
VOV News reported that the five leading e-commerce websites in the country are Vatgia.com, Enbac.com, Muachung.vn, Chodientu.vn and 123mua.vn.
