Rebecca PY MALAYSIA, 6 JULY 2026 – Dyson has announced the arrival of its first portable handheld fan in Malaysia, the Dyson HushJet Mini Cool Fan, a multi-functional device engineered for use as a wearable, on a desk or handheld while on the move. Weighing just 212g and equipped with a long-lasting six-hour battery, the fan is designed to keep users cool throughout the day and night. It achieves airflow speeds of up to 25m/s, powered by a brushless DC motor capable of spinning at up to 65,000 RPM, and offers five airflow speeds plus a Boost mode for extra power, allowing users to customise cooling for different environments and needs.
Jake Dyson, Chief Engineer at Dyson, said the company has been focused on airflow since 2009, refining air projection, reducing turbulence and advancing thermal technology, describing the HushJet Mini Cool Fan as the result of that long-term engineering effort to bring elite cooling technology into a portable, handheld form.
The company also highlighted the significance of the number 38 in its engineering, noting that 38mm represents Dyson’s ongoing effort to make products smaller, lighter and better performing, a measurement shared with the Dyson Supersonic hair dryer and the Dyson PencilVac, and now the HushJet Mini Cool Fan.
Dyson’s HushJet projection technology delivers the fan’s airflow output while aiming to reduce noise, with the company saying it has lowered frequencies, eliminated high-pitched whirring and reduced motor whine to achieve what it describes as pitch-perfect cooling. The fan is designed for flexible use, whether handheld, placed on a desk or worn hands-free, in settings ranging from offices and commutes to outdoor events.
Holly Holmes, Dyson’s Colour Materials and Finish Engineer, said the design team aimed to create finishes that evoke emotion and context, using bold contrasts for confidence, deep tones for sophistication and soft hues for calm, with the goal of making the engineering feel personal. The HushJet Mini Cool Fan is available in three finishes: Ink/Cobalt, blending cobalt and ink blue to reflect the duality of city life; Stone/Blush, a soft white infused with pink inspired by mother of pearl; and Carnelian/Sky, a matte red paired with sky blue for a sense of freshness.
The fan comes with a Neck Dock, Charging Stand, USB-C charging cable and Travel Pouch for everyday use. Dyson is also offering optional accessories, including a Universal Mount for attaching the fan to items such as a pram, and a Grip Clip for securing it to bag straps or jackets.
