Digital finance provider Skyro has officially entered Malaysia with the rollout of its first mobile-first cash loan product, providing eligible consumers financing of up to RM1,000 with a four-month repayment schedule. The move follows regulatory approval from the Ministry of Housing and Local Government and marks the group’s second Southeast Asian expansion following its presence in the Philippines.

MALAYSIA, 6 NOVEMBER 2026 – Digital finance group Skyro has rolled out its maiden credit offering in Malaysia, introducing an entirely mobile cash loan intended to assist local consumers with immediate financial requirements such as urgent home repairs and unforeseen expenses.

Accessible via the Skyro mobile application, first-time borrowers can obtain loans of up to RM1,000, repayable across a four-month tenure subject to eligibility. The platform manages the entire lifecycle digitally, including identity verification, credit evaluation, automated approval, and fund distribution, removing the necessity of visiting physical locations. Skyro plans to scale individual borrowing limits up to RM10,000 over time as borrower histories develop.

This rollout builds on the company’s expansion roadmap after obtaining an online moneylending license from Malaysia’s Ministry of Housing and Local Government (KPKT) in September 2026. Malaysia represents Skyro’s second Southeast Asian operational footprint following its initial deployment in the Philippines.

To qualify, Malaysian citizens holding a valid MyKad and proof of regular earnings can submit applications within the app. Assessments factor in individual earnings, existing debts, and credit standing, with most reviews concluding within minutes. In an effort to prioritize transparent borrowing, the product features a fixed interest rate of 1.5 percent monthly. Prior to contract execution, users are required to complete embedded financial literacy videos alongside a full fee and instalment breakdown before disbursement takes place into their designated local bank accounts.

Skyro co-founder and co-CEO Arsen Liametov emphasized that introducing credit is closely tied to customer education, ensuring borrowers are clear on total repayment liabilities and schedule commitments.

The launch represents the introductory tier of Skyro’s broader Malaysian roadmap. The fintech firm expects to roll out dedicated credit line limits before the close of 2026, aiming to introduce more versatile consumer finance tools as it deepens its understanding of domestic user needs. The Skyro app is currently available for Android devices via Google Play, with an iOS version scheduled to arrive on the Apple App Store.
