Coda Launches Coda Links to Accelerate Direct-to-Consumer Monetization Amid Global Regulatory Shifts

Coda has introduced Coda Links, a new solution designed to help publishers convert link-outs into seamless, secure direct-to-consumer payment experiences. The launch comes as regulatory changes worldwide accelerate the shift toward out-of-app and web-based monetization.

SINGAPORE, 24 DECEMBER 2025 – Coda, a global leader in digital content monetization and payment optimization, has officially launched Coda Links, a new solution that enables publishers to turn traditional link-outs into seamless, secure, and high-converting direct-to-consumer (D2C) payment journeys.

The launch comes at a pivotal time for out-of-app monetization as regulatory developments across the United States, Europe, and Asia open new pathways for developers to transact directly with users. Recent antitrust rulings in the US, including decisions related to Epic Games and Google’s proposed settlement, are easing restrictions around alternative app stores and payment methods. In Europe, the Digital Markets Act is reshaping platform control, while Japan’s Mobile Software Competition Act, which took effect on December 18, mandates support for alternative app stores, third-party billing, and external checkout links. Across Southeast Asia, stronger data protection and payments regulations are further encouraging publishers to build direct relationships with users.

These global shifts are accelerating the move toward web-based monetization, but they also introduce new operational and compliance challenges. Out-of-app monetization now accounts for 38% of mobile gaming revenue in Southeast Asia, nearly doubling from 21% just two years ago. As publishers scale their D2C strategies, the need for secure, compliant, and conversion-optimized infrastructure has become increasingly critical.

Coda Links is designed to close this execution gap by delivering a frictionless D2C experience from the first click. Using intelligent deep linking, the solution automatically identifies users and passes key data such as player ID, product SKU, and preferred payment method into a pre-filled checkout flow. This significantly reduces login friction and complex steps that often lead to drop-offs when users move from in-app environments to the web.

The solution is already being used by several major publisher partners across popular mobile titles. By redirecting players to Codashop, Coda Links has captured 18% of iOS traffic for participating publishers, increased transaction volumes by more than eight times, and delivered up to a 14-fold increase in monthly revenue for a leading US publisher. It has also expanded access to publisher web stores, driving a 30% rise in new visitors within the first three months of adoption.

Beyond conversion gains, Coda Links provides publishers with detailed visibility into user behavior and transaction performance. These insights enable teams to test offers, refine pricing strategies, and strengthen long-term player retention while maintaining full ownership of customer data.

Coda’s leadership noted that link-outs only deliver value when supported by scalable, compliant infrastructure. By reducing execution friction, Coda Links enables publishers to unlock incremental revenue across markets, payment methods, and regulatory environments with greater confidence.

The solution offers flexible integration options to support different monetization models, ranging from a simple payment page for rapid deployment to full checkout integration via Coda’s commerce API. This advanced option enables features such as personalized offers and loyalty programs, while intermediary flows are available for markets with specific app store compliance requirements. All configurations are designed to deliver secure, localized, and conversion-optimized experiences.

Coda currently supports more than 300 publishers worldwide, connecting them to over 300 million paying users across more than 70 markets. As sectors including gaming, streaming, productivity software, and the creator economy continue shifting toward direct web monetization, Coda Links positions publishers to build scalable, compliant, and sustainable D2C revenue channels on a global scale.
