CIMB Bank Unveils Kwik Account and Kwik Money Transfer

Sept 10, 2013 (Tue): CIMB Bank has launched Kwik Account, the first account in Malaysia that can be opened online without visiting a bank branch, and is instantly activated upon successful application.

The bank also introduced Kwik Money Transfer, a new feature on its market leading internet banking platform, CIMB Clicks that gives all CIMB Bank savings and current account holders the capability to send money to anyone’s Malaysian mobile numbers or email addresses instead of account numbers.

Besides money transfers, Kwik Account holders can also make offline and online purchases, pay bills, top up prepaid reloads and make remittances. Besides, the account holder can also opt for a Kwik Card – a prepaid card that functions like a debit card to enable ATM withdrawals and payments at any MasterCard terminal worldwide.

According to CIMB Bank’s Group Deputy Chief Executive Officer and Head of Consumer Banking Renzo Viegas, the bank was eyeing 200,000 Kwik Account holders by end-2014. Renzo said the bank expects Kwik Account can help to increase their online customers by 20 per cent next year.

In conjunction with the launch of Kwik Account, whoever sign up for a Kwik Account and perform Kwik Account transaction from now until 28 February 2014, they can win attractive monthly prizes such as iPad mini, Canon Power Shot and Microsoft Surface RT.
