CelcomDigi has released a short film featuring two top Malaysian athletes in a synchronised challenge to demonstrate the real-time responsiveness enabled by 5G connectivity. The campaign highlights how ultra-fast, low-latency networks are transforming digital experiences for consumers and enterprises alike.

MALAYSIA, 6 FEBRUARY 2026 – CelcomDigi Berhad has unveiled a short film highlighting the real-time responsiveness of 5G connectivity through a coordinated challenge featuring two world-class Malaysian athletes. Titled An Epic Showcase of 5G, the film brings together Soh Wai Ching, the world’s top-ranked towerrunner, and Qabil Irfan, a motorsports prodigy and FIM MiniGP World Champion, in a test where precision timing determines the outcome.

The film follows Soh Wai Ching as he sprints up 106 floors of Exchange 106 to activate a buzzer, while simultaneously, Qabil Irfan races along a track where a gate narrows continuously. The challenge hinges on whether the buzzer is pressed before the gate fully closes, illustrating how timing, accuracy, and connectivity must operate in perfect synchronisation. The experience is designed to help audiences appreciate the impact of ultra-fast speeds and real-time responsiveness across applications such as remote operations, streaming, gaming, and everyday digital activities.

CelcomDigi said the initiative reflects its commitment to helping Malaysians better understand the value of 5G beyond speed, showcasing how low-latency connectivity can enable seamless and mission-critical digital experiences. The company currently provides high-quality 4G nationwide and has enhanced this with seamless 5G access, provisioning all 20.5 million customers for 5G while supporting adoption through device upgrade programmes.

Beyond consumer connectivity, CelcomDigi continues to play a key role in advancing Malaysia’s enterprise digital transformation. Businesses across sectors including agriculture, logistics, manufacturing, healthcare, and energy are leveraging the company’s 5G-enabled, AI-powered solutions, cloud services, cybersecurity, and data-driven technologies to improve efficiency and unlock new digital opportunities. These efforts support Malaysia’s transition towards a 5G-AI digital society and strengthen the nation’s growing digital economy.
