MALAYSIA, 6 JULY 2026 – CelcomDigi Berhad has announced the return of its Future Pros Bootcamp for a third year, offering aspiring young Malaysian gamers the chance to earn a spot with Selangor Red Giants, one of the world’s top Mobile Legends: Bang Bang teams. Developed in collaboration with SRG and the MOONTON Games Student Leader Programme, the nationwide initiative is designed to uncover the country’s next esports talents and provide a clear pathway from grassroots participation to the professional stage, including opportunities to train and compete internationally.
Positioned as Malaysia’s first structured grassroots esports development initiative, Future Pros Bootcamp is now expanding beyond schools into universities and tertiary institutions across the country. Through Arena CelcomDigi, the company’s platform for sports, gaming and digital communities, participants will learn directly from professional players, coaches and industry practitioners. Standout performers will undergo high-performance training, with one top talent earning the opportunity to secure a professional contract with SRG and compete alongside internationally recognised champions on the global MLBB stage.
Running alongside the bootcamp, CelcomDigi’s Healthy Gaming initiative focuses on digital balance, mental well-being and safe online behaviour, reflecting the company’s view that long-term success in esports extends beyond in-game performance alone.
Chan May Ling, CelcomDigi’s Head of Brand and Marketing Services, said the programme reflects the company’s commitment to creating real opportunities for youth in esports, noting that Future Pros helps aspiring gamers move from casual play toward competing at the highest level while gaining mentorship and exposure through the partnership with SRG and MSL. She added that the company remains focused on nurturing well-rounded individuals by encouraging healthy gaming habits and positive digital behaviour.
Participants will take part in immersive workshops covering more than gameplay, gaining hands-on exposure to the wider esports ecosystem, including competitive strategy, high-performance training, content creation, broadcast production and team operations.
Dr. Johan Kamal Hamidon, Chief Executive Officer of Selangor FC, said grassroots development at SRG is about shaping individuals who can thrive across the entire esports ecosystem, not just creating in-game champions, with the aim of providing the right platform, guidance and opportunities for the next generation to grow as both players and professionals.
Jeffery Chan, Game Publishing Lead for Business Development and Campus Marketing at Moonton, said the company is committed to empowering youth through platforms that support growth, leadership and self-discovery, adding that the Moonton Student Leader Programme and initiatives like Future Pros give students hands-on experience and access to meaningful opportunities.
CelcomDigi’s continued involvement in the MLBB Professional League Malaysia further reinforces its commitment to advancing the local esports ecosystem, spanning campus-level development to the professional competitive stage, as part of efforts to build a more structured, inclusive and sustainable pathway for aspiring players in Malaysia.
