CelcomDigi Berhad has launched applications for the second cohort of its Young Talent Programme, a two-year career acceleration initiative offering structured rotations across five tech specialisations. Building on the overwhelming response from its inaugural intake, which drew nearly 3,600 applicants for only 20 spots, the programme targets Malaysian graduates and young professionals ready to shape the country’s digital future.

MALAYSIA, 14 MAY 2026 – CelcomDigi Berhad has officially opened applications for the second cohort of the CelcomDigi Young Talent Programme, a two-year structured initiative designed to fast-track high-potential Malaysians into future digital leaders within a telco-tech environment.

The programme goes beyond the conventional graduate placement model. Rather than offering general exposure, CelcomDigi YTP is built around deep specialisation and real business accountability from the outset. Participants will be placed across one of five competency streams, namely Cloud Engineering, Cybersecurity, Data and Business Analytics, Digital Product Development, and AI and Automation. Throughout the two-year journey, they will work directly alongside experienced teams on live transformation projects that are central to CelcomDigi’s evolution as a 5G- and AI-enabled organisation.

The second cohort’s application window runs from 13 May to 3 July 2026, open to Malaysian graduates and young professionals with fewer than two years of working experience.

The overwhelming response to the inaugural intake underscores the appetite for structured digital career pathways in Malaysia. The first cohort received close to 3,600 applications competing for just 20 placements, a ratio that reflects both the selectivity of the programme and its appeal among young Malaysians seeking meaningful early-career exposure in the technology sector.

Azmi Ujang, Chief Human Resources Officer of CelcomDigi, described the programme as a deliberate effort to build a pipeline of talent suited to the pace and complexity of today’s digital landscape. He noted that the ideal candidate is not only technically strong but also commercially aware, adaptable, and capable of continuous learning in a fast-moving environment. He further distinguished CelcomDigi YTP from standard graduate programmes by emphasising its focus on deep expertise, exposure to genuine business challenges, and development alongside teams driving the company’s most critical transformation priorities.

CelcomDigi YTP sits within the broader CD:NXT initiative, the company’s long-term strategy to build a future-ready digital workforce for Malaysia. The initiative reflects CelcomDigi’s position as one of the country’s key enablers of digital growth, with investments directed at strengthening national capabilities in AI, data, analytics, and emerging technologies. By developing talent from the ground up, the company aims to contribute not only to its own transformation but also to Malaysia’s long-term competitiveness in the regional digital economy.
