Canon Marketing Malaysia has launched the EOS R6 V full-frame camera alongside the RF20-50mm f/4L IS USM PZ, its first-ever L-series lens with built-in power zoom, targeting professional and everyday content creators. The duo is engineered for vertical content, long-form recording, and cinematic mobility across multiple platforms.

MALAYSIA, 14 MAY 2026 – Canon Marketing Malaysia has introduced a new content creation kit designed to meet the growing demands of modern digital creators. The package consists of the EOS R6 V, a full-frame camera optimised for video production, and the RF20-50mm f/4L IS USM PZ, a compact L-series lens featuring the brand’s first built-in power zoom mechanism.

The EOS R6 V carries the core imaging performance of the EOS R6 Mark III while introducing several creator-centric upgrades. Among the most notable is the built-in cooling fan, which extends 7K Open Gate MP4 recording duration to approximately three times longer than its predecessor — a critical advantage for live events, long interviews, and extended single takes. The camera also supports 7K Open Gate RAW and MP4 shooting, enabling creators to repurpose horizontal footage into vertical formats without requiring multiple shooting sessions.

Designed natively for vertical content, the EOS R6 V features a dedicated vertical tripod socket that provides stable mounting without additional brackets, while the user interface automatically reorientates to suit the shooting angle. Its linear, low-profile body integrates cleanly with rigs and accessories, making it a practical tool for structured production setups.

On the optical side, the RF20-50mm f/4L IS USM PZ pairs seamlessly with the camera body. The lens covers a 20mm to 50mm zoom range — wide enough for environmental and interior shots, yet versatile enough for conversational framing — while maintaining a constant f/4 aperture throughout. Its power zoom function enables smooth, cinematic zoom transitions, with speed adjustable across up to 15 levels in both fast and slow configurations. A zoom mode selector switch also allows users to toggle between power zoom and conventional manual zoom, and the lens barrel length remains fixed during zooming, eliminating the need to rebalance support rigs.

Stabilisation is a key strength of the duo. The EOS R6 V’s five-axis In-Body IS works in coordination with the lens’s Optical IS, achieving up to 8.0 stops of stabilisation effect at the centre and edges when combined. Subject Tracking IS mode further accounts for subject movement, keeping handheld and gimbal footage steady across dynamic scenarios.

Still photography performance is equally robust. The 32.5-megapixel full-frame CMOS sensor delivers strong dynamic range and detail resolution, supporting up to 40 fps continuous shooting via electronic shutter. The camera’s autofocus system mirrors that of the EOS R6 Mark III, while the lens’s professional-grade optics address distortion, chromatic aberration, flare, and ghosting.

For self-filming, the EOS R6 V includes a front recording button and tally lamp, while the lens’s front-accessible zoom ring adds further convenience. Remote control options include the Camera Connect app and the newly introduced Wireless Remote Controller BR-E2, which offers expanded functions over its predecessor and ships with the Tripod Grip HG-200TBR — a multi-use accessory that doubles as a desktop tripod and selfie stick.

Edward Chang, Head of Image Communication Business Division at Canon Marketing Malaysia, noted that the products reflect the realities of cross-platform content creation today, stating that the combination is built to deliver performance and ease for both professional productions and everyday content workflows.

On the professional production side, the EOS R6 V supports Canon Log 2/3, Custom Picture, custom LUT, waveform monitor display, 4-channel audio recording, and a standard HDMI Type-A terminal. Colour Filters and Slow and Fast Motion mode round out the creative toolkit.

The RF20-50mm f/4L IS USM PZ weighs approximately 420 grams and measures around 98.4mm, making it one of the more compact full-frame L-series options available. Canon positions the lens as delivering optical performance comparable to or exceeding the RF24-105mm f/4L IS USM, with a dust- and drip-resistant build suited for varied shooting environments.
