Consumers are more likely to be cheated when buying expensive items online such as mobile phones, electrical appliances and second-hand car, according to Reihana Abdul Razak, the chairman of Tribunal for Consumer Claims Malaysia. She added that most of such fraud cases filed with the tribunal were from Kuala Lumpur, Selangor and Penang.
She urged the public not to purchase expensive goods online and consumers should do some researches such as compare prices and understand the warranty period before making the purchase.
