Bank Islam Malaysia Berhad has launched its new BIMB Mobile and BIMB Web platforms, offering customers enhanced digital banking experiences with modern features, improved security, and a user-friendly design. 25 November 2024 – Bank Islam Malaysia Berhad (Bank Islam) has launched two state-of-the-art digital banking platforms—BIMB Mobile and BIMB Web—signifying a major step forward in its digital transformation strategy. Designed to enhance user experience, the platforms promise over four million customers across Malaysia an intuitive, secure, and fully personalized banking journey.
The platforms provide a comprehensive suite of tools enabling users to efficiently manage their finances from anywhere at any time. With cutting-edge security features, sleek interfaces, and seamless navigation, they embody Bank Islam’s commitment to delivering convenient and adaptable solutions tailored to modern banking needs.
This milestone supports Bank Islam’s long-term digital strategy to innovate and future-proof its offerings. The platforms are scalable, enabling upgrades and expansions to meet market demand and evolving industry practices. Mohamed Iran Moriff Mohd Shariff, Group Chief Operating Officer of Bank Islam, highlighted the customer-centric design, emphasizing the modernized user experience and enhanced accessibility for all levels of digital proficiency. “The new platforms reflect our vision of branchless banking, allowing customers to enjoy maximum convenience and flexibility,” he stated.
Bank Islam has seen significant growth in digital transactions, with 5.9 billion online transactions recorded as of October 2024, 3.5 billion of which were conducted via Internet Banking. The BIMB Mobile app is now available on major app stores, ensuring a smooth transition for existing users of the outgoing GO app and Internet Banking (IB) services, which are scheduled to be retired by November 2025.
