Bank Islam has launched the Mastercard Inspire Credit Card-i, a Shariah-compliant credit card aimed at young professionals, offering rewards, travel perks, and a lifetime annual fee waiver. The card also promotes eco-friendliness and financial literacy through exclusive benefits, including TruPoints rewards and discounts for frequent travelers.
30 September 2024 – Bank Islam Malaysia Berhad (Bank Islam) has introduced the Mastercard Inspire Credit Card-i, a new Shariah-compliant credit card tailored for young professionals. This innovative card, developed in collaboration with Mastercard, is specifically designed to assist graduates and early-career individuals in managing their finances responsibly while offering a range of exclusive benefits.
The Mastercard Inspire Credit Card-i stands out with its minimalist design and eco-friendly composition, made from 94% plant-based materials. Available in four vibrant colors, the card offers style alongside functionality. In line with its mission to make financial management accessible, Bank Islam has waived the annual fee for life, making it an affordable option for first-time credit card users.
Mizan Masram, Bank Islam Group’s Chief Business Officer for Retail Banking, emphasized the broader purpose of the card. “The Mastercard Inspire Credit Card-i is more than a payment tool; it’s an entry point into a world of financial literacy and rewarding experiences. Cardholders can enjoy multiple rewards, including 2X TruPoints for airline and online purchases, and unlimited TruPoints on all retail spending. These points can be seamlessly redeemed through the Bank Islam Mastercard Pay with Rewards™ mobile app at any Mastercard-accepting merchant worldwide.
Additional perks include two complimentary annual entries to Plaza Premium Lounges and a 20% discount on KLIA Ekspres fares, making it particularly advantageous for frequent travelers. Cardholders will also have access to exclusive Mastercard promotions and offers throughout the year.
To celebrate the launch, Bank Islam is offering a special promotion from October 1 to December 31, 2024. New cardholders who activate their Inspire Credit Card-i and make a minimum spend of RM100 in a single transaction will receive a RM30 Grab voucher, which can be used for GrabFood and GrabRide services.
An exclusive “Passport to Inspire” event will also take place at Central i-City, Shah Alam, from September 26–29, 2024, featuring interactive workshops, financial management sessions, and contests with limited-edition gifts.
