Bank Islam has partnered with PayNet and PLUS Malaysia to launch a cashback campaign rewarding cashless debit card users at highway R&Rs during the festive season. The initiative promotes digital payments and supports Malaysia’s shift toward a cashless economy.
MALAYSIA, 23 MAY 2025 – Bank Islam Malaysia Berhad, in collaboration with Payments Network Malaysia Sdn Bhd (PayNet) and PLUS Malaysia Berhad (PLUS), has unveiled the “Balik Kampung dengan Kad Debit-i Bank Islam di R&R PLUS” campaign, aimed at encouraging cashless spending along major Malaysian highways during the upcoming festive season.

Running from 28 March to 30 June 2025, the campaign offers 10% cashback for Bank Islam Debit Card-i (MyDebit) users who spend a minimum of RM15 at selected PLUS Rest and Service Areas (R&Rs). Eligible users may receive up to RM15 cashback, credited post-campaign on a first-come, first-served basis.
Timed with the school holidays and Aidiladha celebrations, the campaign promotes cashless convenience and payment safety for highway travelers.
“This collaboration marks another meaningful step in promoting safe, seamless, cashless transactions at high-traffic areas like R&Rs,” said Mizan Masram, Bank Islam’s Group Chief Business Officer – Retail Banking. “We are enhancing customer convenience and helping Malaysia advance towards a digitally inclusive economy.”
Azrul Fakhzan Mainor, PayNet’s Senior Director of Commercial, noted, “By leveraging R&R traffic during festive periods, we’re making cashless transactions more accessible and helping Malaysians experience digital payment convenience.”
Mohd Fauzi Puniran, Chief Commercial Officer at PLUS, highlighted that over 84.8% of stalls across its R&Rs already accept e-wallets, debit, and credit card payments, thanks to ongoing digitization efforts. PLUS plans to introduce fully cashless operations at selected R&Rs — including Tapah, Seremban, Rawang, and Sungai Buloh Overhead Bridge Restaurant — by the third and fourth quarters of 2025.
This multi-stakeholder collaboration not only rewards consumers for going cashless but also supports the vision of a smart highway ecosystem for safer and smoother travel.
