Bank Indonesia, in collaboration with the Government and industry stakeholders, organized the Indonesia International Modest Fashion Festival (IN2MF) in Kuala Lumpur, aimed at promoting Indonesian Modest Fashion globally. The event showcased innovative Modest Fashion designs integrating Indonesian textiles and culture, fostering collaboration between the Modest Fashion industries of Indonesia and Malaysia to enhance exports to Southeast Asia.
8 May 2024 – Bank Indonesia, in partnership with the Government and industry stakeholders, is dedicated to bolstering the Islamic economy and finance sector, with a special focus on the Modest Fashion industry. As part of these efforts, Bank Indonesia, along with the Ministry of Cooperatives and SMEs, the Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia in Kuala Lumpur, and the Indonesia Fashion Chamber (IFC), organized the Indonesia International Modest Fashion Festival (IN2MF) on May 4, 2024, with the theme “Cultural Harmony: Exploring Modest Fashion Across Asia.”
The presence of IN2MF in Kuala Lumpur is a significant step towards promoting Indonesian Modest Fashion globally, particularly in Southeast Asia. This event, which is part of the third edition of IN2MF, will culminate in Jakarta from October 30 to November 4, 2024. IN2MF in Kuala Lumpur also aligns with the Indonesia Festival activities in Malaysia, in collaboration with the Embassy of Indonesia, aiming to boost Indonesian product promotion in the region.
Imam Hartono, Head of the Islamic Economics and Finance Department at Bank Indonesia, highlighted that IN2MF will showcase the excellence and diversity of Indonesian Modest Fashion to the global market, particularly in Southeast Asia. IN2MF in Kuala Lumpur will present innovative, stylish, and sustainable Modest Fashion designs, incorporating Indonesian textiles and culture, offering a unique experience for the global fashion industry.
Hermono, Indonesian ambassador in Malaysia, expressed pride in IN2MF Kuala Lumpur 2024, emphasizing Indonesia’s motto of “Unity in Diversity.” He hopes that IN2MF will become an annual event promoting Modest Fashion that reflects unity in diversity to Malaysia, Asia, and beyond.
This event serves as a platform to promote the creative excellence of Indonesian Sharia Creative Industry (IKRA) members in the fashion sector, curated by Bank Indonesia. Leading designers, such as Dewi Sambi by Uthi Mintiarto, Haluan Bali, Hilman Samudera, and Kasuari Batik, will showcase their works, integrating traditional textiles from various regions across Indonesia.
IN2MF aims to foster strong synergy between the Modest Fashion industries of Indonesia and Malaysia, encouraging collaboration and innovation. This initiative will enhance Indonesian exports to Southeast Asia, with a special focus on the Malaysian market.
