Fri, Jun 7, 2013: E-Commerce giant, Amazon has launched its first shopping website – Amazon.in in India by offering books, films and TV shows only at the initial stage and will offer mobile phones and cameras within weeks, the BBC news agency reported.
In India, the local regulations prevent multi-brand retailers from selling directly to consumer online. This forces Amazon to offer marketplace model that allowing third party retailers to sell their goods through its platform, which also a familiar retail concept in India. The sellers require to send their goods to Amazon’s warehouse near Mumbai and Amazon will pack and deliver the goods to customers when receive an order.
