All Nippon Airways has transformed its digital infrastructure using Equinix Fabric to establish a centralized cloud network hub that reduces network provisioning time by 80%. The software-defined connectivity framework supports the airline’s hybrid multicloud environment while aiming to cut five-year total cost of ownership by 30%.

MALAYSIA, 12 AUGUST 2026 – All Nippon Airways (ANA) has revamped its digital infrastructure by deploying Equinix Fabric to power its next generation of passenger services, operational systems, and cloud connectivity. Facing a projected tenfold increase in global data volumes, Japan’s flagship airline established a centralized cloud network hub that slashes network provisioning times by roughly 80%, allowing teams to allocate more resources toward application development and testing.

By transitioning from traditional network architectures reliant on dedicated circuits to a software-defined interconnection model, ANA has streamlined its hybrid multicloud framework. The deployment allows the airline to secure on-demand, private connections to major cloud providers like AWS, Microsoft Azure, and Google Cloud, while targeting a 30% reduction in its total cost of ownership over five years.

Jun Nakazato, Manager at ANA’s Digital Governance Department, noted that rapid business growth demanded unprecedented network flexibility. He explained that implementing a network-as-a-service model through Equinix offered the most effective path forward for scaling operations across ANA’s fleet of approximately 280 aircraft and more than 200 routes.

Equinix Fabric provides ANA with centralized policy enforcement, private connectivity, and compliance alignment to safeguard mission-critical systems such as reservations, boarding, and customer communications. The flexible architecture also serves as a foundation to support future digital initiatives, including advanced analytics, operational automation, and artificial intelligence workloads.

Kuniko Ogawa, Managing Director for Equinix Japan, emphasized that ANA’s strategic shift illustrates how large enterprises can modernize infrastructure by adding software intelligence on top of resilient physical networks, ensuring the airline can accommodate future data demands while upgrading current passenger experiences.
