Robotics company AGIBOT has kicked off its Asia-Pacific expansion with a major launch event in Malaysia, unveiling the country’s first AI & Robotics Experience Centre in partnership with I-Berhad. The move underscores AGIBOT’s leadership in humanoid robotics and its ambition to scale embodied intelligence across real-world commercial and urban environments.
MALAYSIA, 15 JANUARY 2026 – AGIBOT, a robotics company focused on embodied intelligence, has announced the start of a series of strategic initiatives across the Asia-Pacific region in 2026, beginning with a landmark launch event in Malaysia. Held at i-City in Selangor, the event brought together AGIBOT’s senior leadership, Malaysian government representatives, industry partners, customers, and media, signalling the company’s long-term commitment to advancing automation and intelligent robotics in the region.
Founded in 2023, AGIBOT set out to develop robots designed for the artificial general intelligence era, prioritising adaptability, learning, and real-world deployment over single-purpose machines. In 2025, the company reached several major milestones, including the rollout of its 5,168th mass-produced humanoid robot, demonstrating industrial-scale manufacturing capability and commercial readiness.
AGIBOT’s progress in embodied AI and large-scale deployment has earned it top industry recognition. According to Omdia’s General-Purpose Embodied Intelligent Robot 2026 report, AGIBOT ranked No. 1 globally in humanoid robot shipments and market share in 2025, shipping more than 5,100 units and capturing 39 percent of the global market.
The Malaysia launch also marked the opening of the AI World Experience Centre at i-City, officiated by the Minister of Science, Technology and Innovation. Established in partnership with I-Berhad, the centre represents Malaysia’s first dedicated AI and robotics experience hub and serves as a living showcase of embodied AI across property, hospitality, tourism, and urban environments. Beyond automation, the initiative integrates a focus on health, wellness, and longevity, positioning robotics as a tool to enhance quality of life alongside productivity.
As part of the broader collaboration, i-City will function as a real-world testbed for AGIBOT’s technologies, including plans to develop what is described as the world’s first AI and Robotics Residential Tower. The long-term partnership aims to accelerate the commercialisation of humanoid robotics through scalable deployment models and real-world use cases.
AGIBOT offers a diversified robotics portfolio spanning humanoid robots, industrial embodied robots, quadruped inspection robots, and autonomous service robots, supporting applications from hospitality and entertainment to manufacturing, logistics, security, and research. Through these deployments, the company seeks to bring embodied AI into everyday environments, supporting industrial upgrades and broader digital transformation across multiple sectors.
With Southeast Asia identified as a key region for expansion, AGIBOT’s Malaysia launch marks the first step in a wider regional strategy to build an embodied robotics ecosystem across Asia-Pacific, translating advanced robotics capabilities into practical, human-centric applications.
