25% of Asia Pacific travel market expected done through online booking

The leading transaction processor for the global travel and tourism industry, Amadeus will organize e-commerce seminar across the Asia-Pacific region, starting from Philippines, Hong Kong, Malaysia, and then Taiwan within this year. The objective of the seminar is to provide travel agencies with new models can evolve their businesses by leveraging e-commerce and assist them in having a stronger presence online through Amadeus e-commerce platforms, including Amadeus Agency Internet Engine, Amadeus Mobile Traveler and Amadeus Mobile Access.

Amadeus expects the Asia-Pacific travel market able to reach US$357 billion (RM1,092 billion) in year 2013 and 25 per cent of the transactions will be done though online bookings, based on a study conducted by PhoCusWright, a US-based travel research firm.
