Dec 19, 2013 (Thu): The vice chairman of the Vietnam E-commerce Association (VECOM), Nguyen Thanh Hung has shared that Vatgia.com, Lazada.vn, 5giay.vn, Enbac.com and Thegioididong.com are the top five e-commerce sites in Vietnam and these sites are owned by local companies except Lazada, Vietnam News reports.
However, the same survey conducted by VECOM revealed that international businesses dominated the top five retail websites in Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, Singapore and the Philippines, such as Apple.com and Amazon.com.
According to Hung, there were still many obstacles for running e-commerce in the country, including high shipping cost and consumers concern about the security of their personal information.
