TCL, the world’s second-largest TV brand from China, is set to directly make its products available in Malaysia in the near future. The company has established operations in the country and plans to introduce a range of mid to high-end products in July.
Aside from TVs, TCL also produces air conditioners, refrigerators, and washing machines and has a presence in over 160 markets worldwide. Recently, the company unveiled its latest offerings for the Asia Pacific market at a launch event in Bangkok, Thailand, showcasing products such as the 2023 C Series Mini LED and QLED TVs, Gentle Cool air conditioner series, and upgraded domestic appliances.
Previously, TCL products in Malaysia were available through local dealers. However, the company’s expansion plan includes the introduction of a wide range of products, including TVs, air conditioners, refrigerators, and washing machines, through various online and offline channels. These channels include popular e-commerce platforms Lazada, Shopee, and TikTok, as well as supermarkets and electronics outlets.
TCL Malaysia’s general manager, Carolyn Qiu, highlighted that the focus will be on larger TVs, particularly those sized 55 inches and above, including 85-inch and 98-inch options for customers looking to create a cinematic atmosphere. TCL positions itself as an affordable premium brand, offering good quality and specifications at competitive prices.
To gain a foothold in the Malaysian market, TCL emphasizes advanced technology, high-quality products, competitive pricing, and an enhanced retail store experience. The company will leverage digital marketing strategies, including social media platforms and influencer collaborations, to build brand and product awareness among consumers.
With its global recognition as the world’s second-largest TV brand, TCL aims to continue expanding its presence across the Asia Pacific region. In key markets like Australia, the Philippines, and China, the brand has already achieved significant success. TCL is committed to providing innovative technology solutions that are socially responsible, environmentally friendly, and developed sustainably.
TCL’s revenue of 160 billion yuan (approximately RM104 billion) in the previous year, with a substantial allocation for research and development, supports its ability to introduce new high-end products annually. Additionally, the company has established partnerships with renowned sports organizations and teams, including basketball and football, further strengthening its global brand presence.
As TCL brings its products directly to the Malaysian market, consumers can anticipate a wide range of high-quality electronics that offer value for their money, along with a focus on sustainable technology and an enhanced customer experience.
