Social e-commerce helps to drive local charity

Through the “Be The Difference” campaign which ran from Oct 29 to Nov 11 by Groupon Malaysia, Universe Malaysia Organization and GRIM Film, funds were raised for the daily expenses and development of the charity homes and NGOs through the power of social e-commerce.

According the Joel Neoh, Groupon Southeast Asia and India general manager, the objectives of the campaign are to encourage Malaysians to help charity and to prove group-buying can bring benefit to the community. Neoh surprised on overwhelming responses from Malaysians received on the charitable event.

This campaign has benefited Malaysian Nature Society, Dyslexia Malaysia, Yayasan Chow Kit, St Barnabas Home, Shepherd’s Centre Foundation, HOPE Worldwide Malaysia, Kiwanis Job Training Centre, Rumah Kasih Nurul Hasanah, Precious Children Home, Rumah Hope, SPCA Kota Kinabalu, Sabah, Sawarak SPCA, House of Joy, Good Samaritan Home, Shelter Home for Children, SPCA Selangor and Malaysian Dogs Deserve Better.
