Aug 14, 2013 (Wed): The global shopping cart provider Shopify has launched Shopify Payments for online stores in the United States. With Shopify Payments, the merchants do not need to sign up with a 3rd party payment gateway service in addition to creating a Shopify store. The merchants just simply select Shopify Payments in the Admin and can start accepting payments instantly.
Shopify Payments is fully integrated with the Shopify Admin and it gives real-time payment tracking. Besides, Shopify Payments also gives merchants the best chance of winning chargeback disputes and recovering lost sales. For any chargebacks received, Shopify automatically provides responses custom-generated from the order, shipping, and customer details of the disputed charge.
For entry plans customers, they can use Shopify Payments at US$14 per month with transaction fee of 2.9% + US$0.30 while for Professional and Unlimited plans, the transaction fee is 2.5% + US$0.30 and 2.25% + US$0.30 respectively.
Shopify Payments currently only available for US merchants and will be rolled out to Canada and other countries soon.
