Police investigates two online news portals on alleged defamatory reports
Police reports were lodged against MalaysiaKini and Malaysian Insider for their allegedly defamatory reports carried on 3 and 4 November in connection with the arrest of a quantity surveyor who is being investigated for insulting the Sultan of Johor in a Facebook posting, the New Strait Times reported.
The police will investigate all statement quoted in the reports together with the writers. Police said they are exercising to lodge report against seditious statements contained in articles although the online portals have the right to publish whatever they want.
