Penetration into East Malaysia increases Groupon Malaysia sales
KUALA LUMPUR: According to Groupon Malaysia chief executive director Joel Neoh, the leading group buying site’s expansion into the East Malaysian market added additional 35,000 subscribers from the respective region and contributed over 23,000 vouchers sales within three months after its launch in that region.
He believes Groupon Malaysia will continue to grow this year due to the initiatives by Malaysia’s government into e-commerce in the country. Collaboration with some strategic partners such as Maybank2u and OSK Properties have strengthen its business presence here in the country, he added. Currently, the company has over 1.5 million subscribers with approximately 1.45 million vouchers purchased, saving consumers over RM234 million.
