Mopay expands its Asia business by setting up offices in Indonesia and Korea

BEIJING: The mobile payment solutions for online merchant, mopay has established two new representative offices in Seoul, Korean and Jakarta, Indonesia as a part of its global expansion plan, to support Asian online merchants to grow internationally.

According to mopay, the company has acquired over 100 clients including Tencent and Changyou in the region since their regional headquarter established in Beijing, China three years ago. Nine out of China’s top ten online game companies are using molpay mobile payment solutions.

According to Gartner, Asia has dominated the mobile payments market and now represents 40 percent of all mobile payment users worldwide, more than 2.5 times as many as North America. Direct operator billing is especially popular with online gamers and ranks among the top three preferred payment methods for virtual good transactions in Asia-Pacific.

Mopay said they are planning to open two more offices in the region within next twelve months.
