Fri, Jul 5, 2013: Tan Sri Mohd Azumi Mohamad, the chairman of CyberSecurity Malaysia said the Internet retailing market in Malaysia will exceed RM1.9 billion by 2016 from RM842 million in sales in 2011 and this will encourage cyber criminals to set up fraudulent websites, the New Strait Times reported.
Azumi also shared that the help centre of CyberSecurity Malaysia, Cyber999 received 4,001 reports of online fraud in 2012, which accounts for 40 per cent of 9,986 incidents reported throughout the year. He believed CyberSecurity’s Malaysia Trustmark program can help to minimize fraudulent websites in the country.
