Intel has unveiled the latest Intel vPro platform, which is powered by the 13th Gen Intel Core processors. The platform has been designed to cater to the evolving needs of businesses by providing the most comprehensive security, essential hardware for PC refreshes, and improved productivity for all employees. The commercial portfolio will offer over 170 notebooks, desktops, and entry workstations from popular partners such as ASUS, Dell, Fujitsu, HP, Lenovo, Panasonic, Samsung, and Acer.
The new vPro platform is considered the leading business computing foundation, thanks to its numerous security capabilities built deep into the silicon, reducing the attack surface by an estimated 70% compared to 4-year-old PCs. New IT-enabled memory encryption will also enhance virtualization-based security in Windows. Customers have more endpoint detection and response (EDR) vendors enabled with Intel Threat Detection Technology, bringing about higher efficacy detection of the latest threats. Additionally, the platform has built-in hardware security to detect ransomware and software supply chain attacks, making it the most comprehensive security offering in the industry.
The platform is based on the 13th Gen Intel Core processors, which provide a hybrid architecture with new Performance-cores, more Efficient-cores on select offerings, smarter task classification with Intel Thread Director, and better energy efficiency with Intel Dynamic Tuning Technology. The platform also comes with leading technologies such as Intel Wi-Fi 6E (Gig+), Thunderbolt 4, and the validation of the Intel Evo platform with superior experiences like intelligent collaboration. As such, Intel vPro devices are optimized for modern business computing.
Intel vPro designs with 13th Gen Intel Core processors offer significant performance improvements. For instance, they are up to 65% faster in Windows application performance versus a 3-year-old desktop PC, 45% faster in content creation while multitasking than a current AMD desktop, and 2.3 times faster in Windows application performance versus a 3-year-old mobile PC. Additionally, they are up to 40% faster in Windows application performance versus a current AMD notebook, and up to 25% faster in business application performance versus Apple M2. The platform is also up to 58% faster in report generation while collaborating than a current AMD notebook.
The 13th Gen Intel Core processors on Intel vPro platforms provide edge processing performance, remote device manageability, powerful security tools, and more for edge application developers. They are ideal for applications in retail, banking, hospitality, education, healthcare, manufacturing, and others.
According to a recent report by IDC, Intel-based Windows PCs have a 26% lower risk of major PC-related security events compared to other Windows PCs. Refreshing to the latest hardware is no longer a luxury, but a necessity in today’s business climate. Companies of all sizes are fighting to defend against the latest security threats, improve employee productivity, and enable optimal experiences such as video conferencing. With the introduction of Intel vPro Enterprise and Intel vPro Essentials, Intel technologies are now accessible to users and organizations of all sizes. Small or medium-sized businesses, large enterprises, public sector organizations, or academic institutions can acquire the right set of Intel vPro capabilities to deliver the best computing foundation for their unique needs.
