Government adopts E-Commerce to create more jobs in the country
KUALA LUMPUR: Multimedia Development Corporation (MDeC) is collaborating with Science, Technology and Innovation Ministry to implement “Digital Malaysia”, a programme to bring Malaysia into a developed digital economy by 2020. MDeC Chief Executive Officer Datuk Badlisham Ghazali believes this program can create 160,000 job opportunities besides generating RM3.1bil in investment by leveraging on ICT.
Asian e-fulfilment hub, e-payment services for microenterprises and small and medium businesses, shared cloud enterprise services, microsourcing for income generation, accelerated international trade through e-commerce, on-demand customised online education, growing the embedded systems industry and a Mobile Digital Wallet are the eight initiatives will be rolled out this year under this programme.
