October 13, 2014 (Mon): foodpanda Malaysia celebrates World Food Day 2014 by offering free delivery service nationwide from the 16th to 24th October 2014. In conjunction with this celebration, foodpanda Malaysia has also selected Rumah Hope and Rumah Amal Cahaya Tengku Ampuan Rahimah (RACTAR) for its foodpanda meal sponsorship.
During the celebration period, foodpanda customers can contribute to the homes by clicking on the “Sponsor a Meal” and select the value of the meal i.e. RM10, RM30, RM50 and RM100. foodpanda Malaysia will match the amount donated to the homes. Apart from participating in foodpanda’s sponsorship programme, customers are reminded of the less fortunate families around them, be it their neighbors, friends or relatives for which they can also request to send meals to.
This year’s World Food Day celebration themed ‘feeding the world, caring for the earth’ is apt for foodpanda. “As a food delivery company, apart from meeting our customers’ expectations for an orderly and punctual food delivery, we also ensure that we have healthy nutritious food option in our system to promote healthy eating among our customers. Less fortunate homes are also remembered on this day and we hope to extend foodpanda sponsored meals to more homes in the near future,” said Claudio Abitante, managing director of foodpanda Malaysia.
foodpanda Malaysia urges the public to support this sponsorship programme so that the homes may enjoy more nutritious meals and enjoy better quality of life through their support. This programme will benefit a total of 130 children from the two homes.
The company intends to make World Food Day an annual celebration in raising awareness of nutritious meals and remembering the less fortunate.
