Tools for Humanity introduces World Chat in Malaysia, an encrypted messaging feature integrated with human verification, aiming to restore trust and authenticity in digital communication. The app now allows users to connect securely with verified humans globally.

MALAYSIA, 19 DECEMBER 2025 – Tools for Humanity has launched a new World App experience in Malaysia, introducing World Chat, a secure and encrypted messaging feature designed to foster communication with verified humans in the age of AI. The update combines private messaging and proof of humanness, creating a more trustworthy digital ecosystem for everyday interactions.

Co-founders Sam Altman and Alex Blania unveiled the new features during a live “Unwrapped” event at the company’s San Francisco headquarters last week. The World Network acts as a trust layer for the internet, with the World App serving as its main entry point. Globally, tens of millions of users already engage with the platform, with millions verified as real humans, and adoption continues to grow rapidly.

Currently, nearly 40 million people use World App, with almost 20 million verified World IDs. In September alone, the app saw a new signup every 1.7 seconds and a verification at an Orb every 3.6 seconds, underscoring the platform’s accelerating adoption.

Ryuji Wolf, Regional General Manager of Meridian East, an operating partner of World, said, “World shows what a human-verified internet looks like when trust is built in from the start. These are practical tools people can use today, and they are the foundation for a more human-centred digital ecosystem.”

World Chat brings several features to users:

  • Verified human messaging: Messages display blue or gray bubbles to indicate whether a contact is verified via World ID.
  • End-to-end encryption: Built on the XMTP protocol, messages are fully encrypted without requiring a phone number or collecting metadata, meeting or exceeding standards set by Signal.
  • Deepfake-resistant profile photos: Users can optionally verify that their profile photo matches their real face, enhancing trust across dating, commerce, and community interactions.

By integrating proof of human verification with secure messaging, Tools for Humanity aims to create a safer and more reliable online environment. The World App with World Chat is now rolling out globally on iOS and Android.
