Provide training on electronic-payments systems to local banks will be the first step taken by Visa to enter the cash-dominated Myanmar market, the global payment technology company said. The company urged Myanmar to focus in the preparation for an influx of international visitors who may prefer to use credit card while they are spending in the country.
Myanmar is expected to have more foreign visitors as the country continues opening to the rest of the world. The hotels and airports are expected bustling with visitors next year especially when the country hosts the Southeast Asian Games and a regional World Economic Forum meeting.
