Under the new decree drafted by the Ministry of Information and Telecommunication of Vietnam, any internet shops found operating without license or offering online game services outside the hours of 8:00am to 10:00pm or within 200m of a school, the shop will be fined up to VND20 million (RM2,920), Viet Nam News reported. On other hand, internet service suppliers who supplying online game services to illegal internet shops will be fined up to VND50 million (RM7,307) under the decree. According to the ministry, 730 internet shops were found violated the regulations.
The decree also provides for fines of VND5 million (RM730) for people who take advantage of the internet to cause social chaos or commit social crimes.
