E-commerce in Vietnam currently is lacking of trustworthiness and ways of solving conflicts and a new draft decree on e-commerce was discussed to protect enterprises and consumers, to cater for the rapid growth in e-commerce, according to Tran Huu Quynh, the chairman of Vietnam International Arbitration Centre (VIAC).
Quynh said that many enterprises have expressed their concern about e-commerce security which caused losses of hundreds of billions of dong. The online shoppers also afraid there are no ways to help them solve their problem in online shopping and their interest is not protected under the previous decree No 57 which was issued in year 2006, Quynh added. Legal Department of Ministry of Industry and Trade (MoIT) chief Nguyen Tan Nhat Linh said the draft decree is expected to become law by next year.
