Terry KS TP-Link Malaysia has signed an MOU with Freshtel Internet to introduce WiFi 7 tri-band whole-home mesh solutions, enhancing in-home connectivity for multi-device households. The partnership positions Freshtel among the first Malaysian ISPs to deploy TP-Link’s WiFi 7 tri-band technology.
MALAYSIA, 12 JANUARY 2026 – TP-Link Malaysia has entered into a strategic partnership with Freshtel Internet through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU), aimed at strengthening home connectivity solutions amid rising demand for stable, high-performance in-home WiFi.
As part of the collaboration, Freshtel Internet will integrate TP-Link’s HB610 WiFi 7 Tri-Band Whole Home Mesh into its broadband service offerings. This move positions Freshtel as one of the earliest internet service providers in Malaysia to adopt TP-Link’s WiFi 7 tri-band solution for residential use.
The HB610 stands out from conventional WiFi 7 deployments with its tri-band architecture, which includes a dedicated 6GHz band. This additional spectrum helps reduce network congestion and supports smoother, more consistent performance in homes with multiple connected devices, where bandwidth demands are increasingly intensive.
According to Alvin Ou, Head of Enterprise & ISP Business at TP-Link Malaysia, in-home WiFi performance has become as critical as internet access speed. He noted that the collaboration enables service providers to offer tri-band WiFi 7 solutions designed to deliver a more reliable and consistent connectivity experience within the home.
Steve Choo, Chief Executive Officer of Freshtel Internet, said dependable in-home WiFi is a core priority for the company. He added that working with TP-Link allows Freshtel to enhance its service offerings with WiFi 7 tri-band technology while preparing for future connectivity requirements as household usage continues to evolve.
Beyond residential applications, the partnership also opens opportunities in centrally managed networking environments. TP-Link’s Omada platform offers a scalable networking framework that could support multi-unit residential developments and hospitality networks, as Freshtel explores new service expansion opportunities.
Both companies indicated that the collaboration will extend over the long term, with a shared focus on enhancing connectivity experiences in line with emerging technology trends and changing user needs.
