TotalEnergies ENEOS Commissions 680 kWp Rooftop Solar System at TechnipFMC Facility in Malaysia

TotalEnergies ENEOS has successfully installed a 680 kWp rooftop solar system at TechnipFMC’s Johor facility, generating renewable electricity to cover 20% of the site’s energy needs. The initiative is expected to reduce carbon emissions by approximately 500 tons annually under an 18-year zero-investment Power Purchase Agreement.

MALAYSIA, 29 JULY 2025 – TotalEnergies ENEOS, in partnership with TechnipFMC, has commissioned a 680 kilowatt-peak (kWp) rooftop solar photovoltaic (PV) system to support the transition toward clean energy at TechnipFMC’s facility in Johor. The installation features over 1,100 solar panels and is projected to produce approximately 915 megawatt-hours (MWh) of renewable electricity annually—equivalent to meeting 20 percent of the facility’s power needs.

The new system enables TechnipFMC to avoid around 500 tons of carbon dioxide emissions each year. The project was delivered under an 18-year Power Purchase Agreement (PPA), requiring no upfront capital from TechnipFMC. TotalEnergies ENEOS funded, installed, and will continue to operate and maintain the solar system, while TechnipFMC will purchase the electricity produced over the contract duration.

“This project marks a significant advancement in TechnipFMC’s sustainability journey,” said Alexandru Buzatu, Director of TotalEnergies ENEOS Renewables Distributed Generation Asia Pacific. “As TechnipFMC’s preferred energy partner, we take proactive steps to help reduce their carbon emissions in the Asia Pacific region.”

Alberto Oliveira, Manufacturing Director at TechnipFMC Nusajaya, added, “We are proud to be part of this renewable power initiative. By harnessing clean energy, we are reducing our carbon footprint and advancing our ambition to drive meaningful, lasting change for our communities.”

The rooftop solar project showcases the growing importance of public-private collaboration in renewable energy adoption. As sustainability gains traction across industries, solar energy continues to offer an effective solution for companies aiming to decarbonize operations.

TotalEnergies ENEOS is a 50:50 joint venture between TotalEnergies and ENEOS Corporation, focused on deploying onsite B2B solar distributed generation solutions across Asia. Headquartered in Singapore, the venture aims to develop 2 GW of decentralized solar capacity in the region over the next five years.

TotalEnergies is steadily expanding its global renewable portfolio, with 30 GW of gross installed renewable capacity as of June 2025 and a target of 35 GW by year-end. Meanwhile, ENEOS continues to diversify its renewable footprint across Japan, the US, Australia, Vietnam, and Taiwan—making this Johor project ENEOS’ first overseas distributed renewable energy venture.
