4 January 2024 – TNG Digital Sdn Bhd, the company behind Touch ‘n Go eWallet, has significantly broadened its service offerings by extending cross-border remittances to over 50 countries through its platform. Initially launched in May 2023 with services available in 10 countries, this expansion comes in response to user demands for an increased array of international options.
The enhanced service, known as GOremit, empowers users to conduct quick and secure overseas money transfers. Users can opt to transfer funds to recipients’ bank accounts, for cash pick-up, or directly to their preferred eWallet in the destination country. Notably, GOremit offers an enticing incentive program, rewarding users with points that can be redeemed for cashback vouchers, physical products, and entries into lucky draws for each transaction made on the platform via GOrewards.
Alan Ni, CEO of TNG Digital, expressed optimism about addressing the challenges associated with international fund transfers through this alternative, fully digital method. Ni emphasized that the expansion caters to user demands and provides an added layer of convenience to their lives. The geographical scope of this expansion encompasses key regions such as Hong Kong, Japan, the UK, and various European countries. Initially limited to 10 countries, including five South-East Asian countries (Indonesia, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, and Vietnam) and additional countries in the Asian region (Bangladesh, India, Nepal, Pakistan, and Sri Lanka), the expanded service now offers a comprehensive solution for a diverse range of users with varying international money transfer needs.
