Tapway Enters Indonesian Market Through Strategic Vision AI Partnerships with ICS Compute, Metrodata, and Syspex

Tapway Sdn. Bhd. has signed strategic agreements with three leading Indonesian firms—ICS Compute, Metrodata, and Syspex—to distribute and implement its SamurAI Vision AI platform across key industries. The move marks a pivotal step in the company’s regional expansion and reinforces its commitment to driving digital transformation across Southeast Asia.

MALAYSIA, 10 JULY 2025 – Malaysian Vision AI specialist Tapway Sdn. Bhd. has officially expanded into the Indonesian market by forging strategic partnerships with three of the country’s most respected technology firms: PT Innovation Cloud Services (ICS Compute), PT Metrodata Electronics, Tbk (Metrodata), and PT Syspex Multitech (Syspex). The appointments were formalised through Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) signed at the Embassy of Malaysia in Jakarta, symbolising Tapway’s commitment to long-term collaboration and innovation in Indonesia.

Under the newly signed agreements, the three partners will act as Tapway’s official channel partners in Indonesia, responsible for distributing SamurAI licenses, executing on-ground implementations, and offering continuous support to clients. This strategic collaboration marks a significant milestone in Tapway’s journey as a regional Independent Software Vendor (ISV) and paves the way for the wider adoption of Vision AI across Indonesia’s retail, manufacturing, logistics, FMCG, and smart infrastructure sectors.

Tapway’s proprietary SamurAI Vision AI platform features a library of both off-the-shelf and customizable AI models that require no coding knowledge. The platform is designed to enhance operational safety, ensure compliance, boost productivity, and elevate customer experiences—all through real-time visual insights powered by AI.

According to Lim Chee How, CEO of Tapway, the Indonesian market holds enormous potential for Vision AI applications. “Indonesia represents one of Southeast Asia’s most promising markets for Vision AI. Our partnerships with ICS Compute, Metrodata, and Syspex are the result of two years of groundwork, mutual trust, and a shared vision to make AI adoption scalable and impactful. The MoUs are not just a formality, but they mark the start of real-world transformations across logistics, retail, and manufacturing landscapes in Indonesia,” he said.

Each partner brings a distinct value to the collaboration. ICS Compute will focus on deploying Tapway’s Vision AI in scenarios that demand real-time automation and seamless integration with existing business systems. By directly connecting AI-powered video insights into enterprise workflows, ICS Compute helps businesses make faster, data-driven decisions that improve efficiency across operations.

Metrodata, with its extensive information and communications technology (ICT) network, will spearhead adoption in the retail and manufacturing sectors. Its strong enterprise client base and technical capabilities are expected to accelerate Tapway’s reach and relevance among Indonesian businesses pursuing digital transformation.

Syspex Multitech, a well-established player in logistics, warehousing, and industrial automation, will extend Tapway’s footprint into safety-focused and compliance-driven environments such as factories and packaging lines. According to Erwin Gunawan, Director at Syspex, “Tapway’s Vision AI isn’t just about building smarter systems — it’s about enabling safer, more compliant, and sustainable operations. This collaboration aligns perfectly with Syspex’s commitment to innovation and operational excellence. With our strong presence in Malaysia and Singapore too, we’re excited to explore and expand our partnership with Tapway across the region moving forward.”

The MoUs open the door for go-to-market planning, pilot implementations, and long-term engagement, with estimated sales revenue of USD1 million projected over the next 12 months. Currently deployed in over 2,000 locations across Southeast Asia, Tapway aims to double that number within the next two years by scaling its solutions across Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, the Philippines, and now, Indonesia.

“Vision AI is no longer a future concept. It’s now a mission-critical technology,” said Chee How. “As Southeast Asia moves further into the digital age, we remain committed to making Vision AI accessible, scalable, and locally relevant—delivering real-time visual intelligence that helps businesses operate smarter, safer, and with greater impact.”

With Indonesia playing a central role in Tapway’s growth strategy, these partnerships reflect a clear intent to deliver innovation that aligns with local needs while maintaining a regional outlook. “We’re proud to be working hand-in-hand with trusted partners in Indonesia who understand the local business landscape and are ready to shape the future of automation,” Chee How concluded.
