20 March 2024 – Training Matching Grant Initiative for Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (LiKES), with a substantial RM30 million earmarked to support internship placements in SMEs and startups. This initiative, launched by Human Resources Minister Steven Sim Chee Keong, aims to benefit approximately 30,000 interns by offering allowances during their training period and fostering collaboration between young talents and emerging businesses.

Sim highlighted the significance of this government-backed internship matching grant, emphasizing its role in empowering SMEs and startups to contribute to talent development while receiving crucial support.
