SHEIN Showcases Cutting-Edge Garment Tools to Revolutionize Apparel Manufacturing

SHEIN showcased over 60 production tools at its Tools Day event to help suppliers boost garment quality, cut manual labor by up to 80%, and meet complex manufacturing demands. The company is also investing in sustainable textile innovations and supplier training to drive industry-wide transformation.

SINGAPORE, 15 AUGUST 2025 – SHEIN, the global fashion and lifestyle e-retailer, has unveiled over 60 advanced sewing and garment production tools at its second Tools Day event, highlighting innovations designed to help third-party suppliers overcome manufacturing challenges, improve garment quality, and accelerate production efficiency.

Held at the Centre for Innovation in Garment Manufacturing (CIGM), the event featured live demonstrations and a virtual tour showcasing specialized equipment, including newly developed attachments for sewing embellished fabrics, lace, and webbing. Key solutions such as the Beaded Embroidery Seam Presser Foot and Bead Breaking Attachment automate complex processes, preserving intricate designs while reducing fabric damage and minimizing manual labor. Since 2024, over 900 units of these tools have been deployed across SHEIN’s supplier network, helping to cut production time by up to 80% in critical stages.

SHEIN’s Tools Day event demonstrates how targeted innovations are helping third-party suppliers overcome technical barriers, and aims to help suppliers reduce the time spent at various stages of production and improve the quality and consistency of the garments produced.

This year’s Tools Day also introduced seven new tools aimed at automating technically demanding tasks, such as aligning lace and pearl trims, enhancing garment finishing while reducing skill requirements. Co-developed with suppliers and validated in real-world factory environments, these tools represent SHEIN’s commitment to improving efficiency and scalability throughout its global supply chain.

Beyond equipment innovation, SHEIN’s CIGM continues to invest in capability-building with vocational training, technical certifications, and strategic advisory services to optimize factory operations. The company is also advancing textile technology through collaborations with Donghua University and Transfar Chemicals, developing sustainable recycled polyester solutions and pioneering new dyeing and finishing processes.

With over 170 tools developed and nearly 6,000 units distributed since 2023, SHEIN is embedding innovation throughout its demand-driven supply chain, setting new standards for speed, precision, and quality in apparel manufacturing.
