In a statement reported by BERNAMA, Rakuten Malaysia’s President and CEO, Masay Ueno said the internet retailing reach RM842 million in 2011 and they expect this number will hit RM1.9 billion by 2016. Ueno commented the raid growth of e-commerce will be driven by the personal touch by online sellers, organized shopping flow and mobile shopping experience in coming years.
He said that his past 12 months observation found that the online shoppers moving away from price driven transactions towards a richer and branded shopping experiences.
