LEBANON: PayPal will launch its online payment service in Lebanon and Egypt next year, the Daily Star reported. PayPal is currently available in the Cooperation Council of the Arab States of th Gulf (GCC), Yemen, Morocco, Tunisia and Algeria. According to PayPal, e-commerce in the MENA region was a 9 billion industry in 2012 and is projected to reach 15 billion by 2015. PayPal aims to increase its market share in the region from 5 per cent to 10 per cent in the next three years.
