Palo Alto Networks has unveiled Prisma SASE 4.0, the latest AI-driven secure access service edge solution, introducing groundbreaking browser-level protection and advanced data security to counter rising cyber threats. The innovation strengthens enterprise defenses against AI-powered attacks while simplifying security operations.
MALAYSIA, 15 SEPTEMBER 2025 – Palo Alto Networks®, a global leader in cybersecurity, has announced the launch of Prisma® SASE 4.0, its most advanced AI-powered secure access service edge (SASE) solution to date. The update sets a new benchmark in cybersecurity with innovations that secure the enterprise browser and protect against sophisticated, AI-driven cyberattacks.
The highlight of the release is Prisma Browser’s in-browser advanced web protection, designed to neutralize malware in real time directly within the browser. Traditional secure web gateways often fail to detect encrypted, evasive threats that assemble inside the browser, creating dangerous blind spots for enterprises. With critical applications and data increasingly accessed through browsers, Palo Alto Networks positions Prisma Browser as a vital defense layer for modern organizations.
Prisma SASE 4.0 also introduces significant advancements in data and application security. Powered by AI-augmented classification, the platform delivers precise and automated protection for sensitive corporate assets, from patents and contracts to source code. With over 140 pre-trained machine learning classifiers and customizable models, it reduces false positives by a factor of ten compared to legacy solutions.
For private applications, the new Private App Security feature replaces outdated static web application firewalls (WAFs) with adaptive, constantly updated protection. This ensures that dynamic enterprise applications are safeguarded against evolving, targeted attacks.
“The conversation with business leaders has evolved. It’s no longer just about blocking threats—it’s about enabling growth,” said Anand Oswal, Executive Vice President of Network Security at Palo Alto Networks. “The innovations in Prisma SASE 4.0, particularly our last-mile protections in the browser, are a direct response to today’s digital landscape, where AI-driven attacks and widespread adoption of AI tools make traditional approaches obsolete.”
Palo Alto Networks continues to consolidate its leadership in the SASE market. Its SASE annual recurring revenue (ARR) reached $1.3 billion in fiscal year 2025, a 35 percent year-over-year increase—more than double the overall market growth rate. The company has also been recognized as a Leader in the Gartner® Magic Quadrant™ for SASE Platforms for three consecutive years, alongside leadership recognition in Security Service Edge and SD-WAN categories.
With over 6,300 SASE customers, including one-third of the Fortune 500, adoption of Prisma Browser has now surpassed 6 million licensed seats, underscoring its role as a trusted solution for securing the modern workforce.
