Palo Alto Networks has unveiled Cortex Cloud ASPM, a powerful new prevention-first solution designed to stop up to 90% of application security risks before they enter production. This next-gen tool revolutionizes cloud application security by enabling real-time protection in the AI-driven development era.
MALAYSIA, 6 AUGUST 2025 – Palo Alto Networks, the global leader in cybersecurity, has announced the release of Cortex Cloud Application Security Posture Management (ASPM), a groundbreaking new solution that prevents up to 90% of application security risks from ever reaching production environments. The launch builds on the momentum from the company’s disruptive Cortex Cloud platform introduced earlier this year.
In a digital landscape increasingly shaped by rapid development and AI-generated code, traditional application security tools are struggling to keep pace—often alerting teams after threats have already slipped into production. This lag has resulted in critical bottlenecks and costly vulnerabilities.
“With AI condensing development cycles from months to mere hours, security needs to match that speed,” said Sarit Tager, VP of Product Management at Palo Alto Networks. “Cortex Cloud delivers prevention-first security, automatically blocking threats and offering unified visibility across the entire application lifecycle.”
The new ASPM platform fully integrates Palo Alto Networks’ existing best-in-class tools and leverages an open partner ecosystem, allowing seamless integration of third-party scanners such as Blackduck, Checkmarx, GitLab, Hashicorp, Semgrep, Snyk, and Veracode. Key benefits include:
- Prevention Over Remediation: Blocks risks before they reach production without slowing development.
- Smart Prioritization: Focuses only on critical, exploitable risks using rich business and code context.
- Automation at Scale: Automates fixes across teams, eliminating manual backlogs and reducing response time.
Industry analysts note that this shift from passive alerts to active prevention marks a significant leap forward. “Palo Alto Networks is the first to tie app security to live threat intelligence, enabling teams to stop threats earlier and operate more efficiently,” an analyst commented.
Cortex Cloud ASPM is expected to be available to customers in the first half of FY26. For more details, visit Palo Alto Networks’ official blog.
