OpusSoft has launched version 3.0 of its SaaS journal management system, introducing AI-powered tools and automation to streamline research publishing workflows. The platform aims to boost efficiency, accuracy, and global visibility for Malaysian journals.

MALAYSIA, 14 OCTOBER 2025 – OpusSoft, Malaysia’s first Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) journal management system, has unveiled its latest version, OpusSoft 3.0, featuring AI-driven automation to deliver a comprehensive end-to-end solution for journal publishing, from submission to peer review and final publication.

The new version introduces four major enhancements designed to tackle key challenges in research publishing workflows, strengthening the global competitiveness of Malaysian journals.

The Galley Proof feature automates journal-specific formatting in under 10 seconds, replacing a process that traditionally takes days or weeks with fast, consistent, and error-free output. Meanwhile, the AI-powered Reviewer Recommendation Engine identifies high-potential reviewers within authors’ networks based on research expertise, citations, and collaboration history, and integrates with Web of Science Reviewer Locator for added precision.

OpusSoft 3.0 is now fully DOI-ready through integration with Crossref, allowing editors to manage DOI registration and assignment in under five minutes, saving valuable time and reducing errors. Its Web Publishing feature enables papers with DOIs to be published directly to journals’ websites and also generates print-ready versions for circulation.

Ramesh Balakrishnan, CEO of OpusSoft, emphasized that the platform streamlines the journal publishing workflow, boosting efficiency and productivity for editorial teams. Current clients include the Malaysian Journal of Microbiology, Malaysian Journal of Medicine and Health Sciences, Asia-Pacific Journal of Molecular Biology and Biotechnology, the National Cancer Society of Malaysia, and Tropical Biomedicine.

Looking ahead, OpusSoft plans to introduce AI-assisted peer review, beginning with automated manuscript prescreening to assess suitability, scope, and quality issues more efficiently.

Supported by a 2024 grant from Cradle Fund, OpusSoft is preparing for regional expansion across Southeast Asia, offering multilingual capabilities and highly customizable features for diverse markets. As Malaysia’s pioneering SaaS journal management platform, OpusSoft 3.0 is poised to set new benchmarks in efficiency, innovation, and global research impact.
