New Zealand (July 18, 2013): Optimizer, an Internet software company, is preparing to launch Swipe Reader, a mobile point-of-sales (mPOS) system and card reader for processing credit cards (Visa and MasterCard) via any Android or iOS-enabled smartphone, in 31 European markets and nine South-East Asian markets from August.
With Swipe Reader, business owners can make transactions from a smartphone instead of a conventional POS system. According to Optimizer, the system is still waiting for the go-ahead from New Zealand regulators, which means the deal with Hong Kong-based ASAP Transaction Processing will see the device distributed earlier in overseas markets.
