Faizz plans to expand further, sharing his success with his community and aspiring to be Malaysia’s top keropok online entrepreneur.


28 December 2023 – Muhammad Faizz bin Pausan Arif, hailing from Terengganu and the proprietor of Keropok Mfaizz, has achieved remarkable success as one of Shopee Live’s top rural sellers. Within just three months, he surpassed the RM500,000 mark in sales, predominantly featuring his signature keropok lekor. Engaging Malaysian audiences every morning at 8 am on Shopee Live, Faizz has become a household name through his ‘Packing Secara Live’ series, where he skillfully packs two-thirds fish meat mixture for instant delivery.

Expressing his gratitude for the transformative impact of Shopee Live on his life, Faizz shares, “I am very happy as Shopee Live has changed my life – previously, I was living with my mother and my sales were limited by slow traffic to my offline store. With Shopee Live, I’ve managed to build my own home, have my own assets, and I’m now able to take care of my family.” The success has enabled him to establish his own factory, processing one ton of fish meat daily, with considerations for additional production capacity to meet the increasing customer demands witnessed during his live streams.

Faizz attributes his success to a crucial lesson: ‘content is king.’ Adapting to audience preferences, he shares, “People get bored by the same types of content, so I always have to try new ways to engage with them.” Experimenting with various approaches, Faizz found that his ‘Packing Secara Live’ series, showcasing the packing process of his products, resonated exceptionally well with viewers and led to record-breaking sales on 11.11.

Distinguishing himself from competitors, Faizz strategically chose the 8 am slot on Shopee Live, tapping into the breakfast audience’s preference for fresh keropok lekor. He explains, “People love to eat keropok lekor as fresh as possible, so I show the breakfast audience how I mix 20kg of boneless ikan selayang fish meat with 10kg tepung sagu and fry it with other tasty ingredients live until it is half-cooked, and then vacuum pack it in time for the courier to pick it up at noon.”

Breaking the norm in Terengganu’s keropok market, where offline sellers often rely on school holiday periods for sales upticks, Faizz has achieved over 18,000 orders from customers nationwide since joining Shopee Live in March 2023. He aims to solidify his position as the top keropok online entrepreneur in Malaysia, planning to expand his live stream sessions, production capacity, and machinery while exploring the possibility of hiring a backup host.

Beyond personal success, Faizz’s thriving business is contributing positively to his local community. He sources all his fish from Terengganu’s fishermen, employs 25 locals in production and packaging, and motivates his siblings—four keropok sellers—to embrace online platforms.
